A school for the deaf aims at providing all the support needed for the children to grow up in a healthy environment into self-dependent individuals and to be a part of the mainstream. A school for the children with auditory disabilities usually runs on charitable funds by a nonprofit organization having proper registration and authorization. It offers all the primary educational facilities to the hearing impaired students along with vocational, residential and medical support. Most of these students belong to the unprivileged class of our society. The schools for deaf education are well aware of the damage that is caused to our society if children, only due to their difficulties in hearing, remain uneducated and illiterate. This phenomenon leads to a drop in economical and productive growth in our country. Educators as volunteers can join a deaf school and people by donating for the betterment of the unprivileged children with hearing disabilities can be a part of a great cause.
Various nonprofit making organizations with support from the volunteers run a school for mentally disabled students offering them educational, vocational, residential and medical support. Charitable funds and trusts provide sponsorships for the schools for the mentally challenged. Donations from various sources – visitors, friends and other organizations also provide finance for these schools. Most of the mentally disabled children belong to poor families and so all facilities including the vocational facilities are offered to them to make them confident and financially independent after attaining adulthood.
